Paniolo Bourbon
In the late 18th century, King Kamehameha the First, was gifted cattle by Captain George Vancouver of the British Royal Navy.
Since cattle were new to the islands, years later the King’s son, Liholiho, invited Mexican Vaqueros to help control and teach cattle ranching. These Vaqueros fell in love with the people of Hawaii. They embraced Hawaiian traditions and infused them into their own They became known as the Paniolos. There is much lore to Hawaii’s Original Cowboys and their descendants still carry their own way of life and heritage. In their honor and this centuries-old tradition of growing in unity, Ke aloha!
