Egan’s Fortitude Irish Whiskey Review

by Daniel Galyean

Owing to the sole surviving member of the Egan family name, who lived in the late 1700’s, Egan’s Irish Whiskey has carried their family bloodline along with their history and business practices through 6 generations to make the company what it is today. From the brand’s birth as a spirited enterprise in 1852, Ireland, the Egan’s family has united members, spanning the globe and generations, to revive and reform P. & H. Egan Ltd. to uphold the legacy and embodiment of true Irish Whiskey.

Egan’s Fortitude Irish Whiskey

This is not your average Irish Whiskey. Egan’s Fortitude is surprisingly robust. Being aged exclusively in Pedro Ximénez casks, it challenges the norms of common Irish Whiskey expectations. With notes reminiscent of a complex single malt Scotch you will find your curiosity increased more with every sip.

Egans Fortitude Tasting Notes

Nose- Toasted grain, caramel, toffee, light fruit with subtle bitterness

Palate- Fresh baked bread with melted butter, smooth and silky texture with a nice sizzle on the tongue.

Finish- Completely new flavor emerges upon swallowing, warm roasted nuts drizzled in butterscotch. A nice heat develops that leaves a comforting and cozy feeling on the palate
