This rare whiskey was aged in the temperate climate of the Northern California coast and bottled under the strict tenets of the Bottled-in-Bond Act of 1897. Each release can only be made from barrels we produced within a six-month time span, giving them true seasonal variance batch over batch. Collectible and one-of-a-kind, these batches will never be replicated and are ever-changing. This is the purest expression of Redwood Empire’s craft.
The Redwood Empire stretches from San Francisco to Humboldt Bay and onto the Oregon border. The region is home to majestic coastal redwoods, some more Than 2,000 years old. The Patriarch Forest in Humboldt Redwoods State Park is home to Rocket Top, a tree reminiscent of a 365-foot-tall bottle rocket. This rye is as complex and extraordinary as the tree it represents.

The Screaming Titan
A quick hike from the Lost Monarch within the Grove of Titans you will find this multi-stem coastal redwood rising over 323 feet from the ancient forest floor. Forestry professor Stephen C. Sillet named it after the story of naturalist Michael W. Taylor, who screamed when he first spotted the grove in the late 1990s.

Redwood Empire Van Duzen Straight Rye Batch 002 is a refined, high-malt rye whiskey crafted with a unique mash bill of 32% malted rye, 66% rye, and 2% wheat. Aged in Toasted and Char 3 barrels, this 94-proof rye offers rich, layered flavors with a smooth balance of spice, malt sweetness, and subtle grain character. With only 64 barrels produced, this small batch expression delivers a distinctive, complex profile that highlights the craftsmanship behind every bottle.

Aged for 6-7 years and 111 proof, Remus Babe Ruth Reserve leads off with brown sugar and fig on the nose. On the first sip, slight mint and brown sugar step up, followed by candied pecans, slight fennel and rye spice. The Remus Babe Ruth Reserve experience closes out with rye spice and cinnamon.

This 2022 Limited Edition bourbon leads with aromas of rich candied fruit with a hint of nutmeg and saddle leather. The initial taste includes candied fruit and fig jam, followed by oak and barrel char, mint and slight caramel, nutmeg, toffee, and honey. This initial taste includes rich caramel and candied raisin, followed by cinnamon and barrel char, with slight vanilla and brown sugar.
