Seelbach’s 9 Year Private Reserve Bourbon Finished in Amburana Barrels
Seelbach’s adage is “we create blends that no one asked for or knew they wanted.” We pride ourselves on being the first to discover new finishing combinations. After trying multiple iterations of Amburana finished, we knew this was one we had to try. Adding the Seelbach’s spin, we started with a blend of 9-year and 5-month-old bourbon. This is the oldest bourbon ever finished in an Amburana barrel! The result of using this exotic Brazilian wood adds notes of holiday spice and maduro tobacco.

Seelbach’s Private Reserve Bourbon Batch 3
Batch 3 of Seelbach’s Private Reserve pays tribute to the cocktail which our name draws inspiration from. The cocktail is a mix of Kentucky Bourbon, Triple Sec, bitters, and topped with champagne. Batch 3 starts with a blend of 84% 4-year 9-month and 16% 15-year Kentucky Bourbon. This blend finished independently in Triple Sec and Champagne barrels. The Triple Sec lends an incredible orange peel and baking spice on the nose. The Pinot Meunier champagne barrels add depth and dried fruit notes on the palate. Both barrels amplify the fruity and spicy profile of the Kentucky Bourbon base blend.

Seelbach’s Private Reserve Straight Bourbon
Seelbach’s is an independent bottler of exceptional spirits. This bottling started with a blend of two lots of barrels. The blend is 66% 2-year-and-six-month-old bourbon barrels and 34% 10-year-and-two-month-old bourbon barrels. This mix rested in new medium-toast French Oak barrels and ex-bourbon Maple Syrup barrels. Each barrel independently adds depth and complexity. The final batch marries notes of crème Brule, oak, and baking spice.
