This blend of straight bourbons was crafted by Aaron Gillespie himself at the Whiskey House in Nashville, an exclusive invite-only club that houses one of America’s largest collections of bourbon. There, Aaron and a group of bourbon experts tasted through whiskeys from distilleries across the country of various ages and types. They managed to create a blend that not only commemorates the 20th anniversary of “They’re Only Chasing Safety,” but could also hold its own amongst all of the amazing bourbons they were surrounded by in the Whiskey House.

We selected a cooperage to assemble our barrels in Louisville, Kentucky that has 55 years of time-tested coopering techniques. All Three Chord Bourbons are aged in Number 4 Char (Alligator) barrels.

Three Chord Goodwood Straight Bourbon
We took barrels on tour for this special collaboration with our friends at Goodwood Brewing Company to celebrate the importance and complexity of American oak. These barrels began their journey in Kentucky where they sheltered bourbon for 15 years before they traveled to Michigan and put our their first release, “Whiskey Drummer.” They then circled back to Kentucky where the top minds at Goodwood barrel-aged an exclusive imperial stout for four months, deemed “Sweet Harmony.” On the last leg of the barrel tour, they migrated back to Michigan and were filled with 6,7 and 15-year-old Kentucky Bourbon for eight months.

The earliest reference to Three Feathers indicates it was first made in 1812. Originally advertised as a luxurious rye whiskey, it would later become a bonded whiskey and then a blended whiskey. The three ostrich feathers were chosen as a logo as they were synonymous with royalty in the 1800s; they would later represent the three people involved in creating the Three Feathers blend.
