Bomberger’s Culte Barrel Finish Straight Bourbon
Bomberger’s Declaration Bourbon honors the legacy of the former distillery known as Bomberger’s in the 1800s and later as Michter’s in the 20th Century. Please join us in toasting and celebrating American Whiskey History.
Bomberger’s is the first American whiskey to be finished in the extremely rare CULTE barrel. To make this special barrel, our French Cooper partner evaluates oak from prestigious French forests including Allier, Nevers, Vosges, and the much-revered Troncais, and then hand-selects the highest quality tight grain wood.
Because the CULTE barrel represents the pinnacle of the French coopering craft, its ultra-fine grain profile has been sought after for years by wineries aging some of the world’s finest wines. To finish our exceptional whiskey, we place fully matured small-batch bourbon into a CULTE barrel, whose staves have been naturally air-dried and seasoned for 40 months before being toasted and charred to our proprietary specifications. The result is an elegant, rich, and complex bourbon. -
Bomberger’s Declaration Precision Fine Grain Bourbon
The year 2025 marks the first release of Bomberger’s PFG™ (Precision Fine Grain) Kentucky Straight Bourbon. The focus is to be precise at every step of the Bomberger’s PFG™ production process.
Bomberger’s PFG™ is made by first aging Kentucky Straight Bourbon in a new toasted and charred American oak barrel. After full maturation, the Kentucky Straight Bourbon is removed from the first barrel and placed in a second new, custom, proprietary toasted and charred French fine grain oak barrel of the most exacting specifications. These barrels are toasted at a tightly defined temperature range for a precise period of time before they receive a select charring. The whiskey is matured in these second barrels before being dumped into small batches that undergo our signature filtration prior to bottling at 100.2 proof (50.1% ABV).
The Bomberger’s PFG™ finishing barrel is a blend of wood from various origins, including the revered Tronçais, Allier, Nevers, and Vosges forests. It is constructed from wood that has been naturally air dried outdoors for a minimum of 40 months in France near the Charente River, which has a unique seasoning environment influenced by humidity, microflora creation, climate, wind direction, and elevation. After this seasoning, the staves are hand selected to construct the Bomberger’s PFG™ finishing barrels.

Pleasant and RelaxingOnce at a bourbon festival, Jimmy came up to Dad and me and poured out three glasses of a whiskey he wanted us to taste. It was some real nice stuff, and when Dad asked what it was, Jimmy said it was something new he was working on, something special. I thought it was pretty cool to bring a new product to a competitor and ask what they think. It showed me the importance of trust and camaraderie, and just how much those old timers respected each other.
The other big thing Jimmy taught me was to treat everybody like I wanted to be treated. When we went to events at bars or liquor stores, he always stayed late to make sure everyone got their picture taken and their bottle signed. It’s easy to take for granted that we get to do what we do because of the people that stand in line for our whiskey, but Jimmy never did.
Just like Dad, there are few things Jimmy loves more than a damn good bottle of bourbon. So, cheers to him and the mentorship he’s given me through thick and thin all these years. I hope you get to share a glass with company as good and true as Jimmy.
MASTER DISTILLER NOTES
The fourth and final batch of Booker’s Bourbon for 2024 is a tribute to a cherished friend of the Noe family, Jimmy Russell. A close friend to my dad and a second father figure to me since my dad’s passing in 2004.
This batch boasts a rich amber color shaped by the charred white oak barrels it aged in until the barrels were dumped. I first tasted this batch at my kitchen table, and its aroma filled the whole room. That first sip is sweet and smooth, and the way the vanilla notes mixes with the brown spice notes is just right- inviting you in for another taste. The finish is very pleasant and relaxing in taste.
I am really proud to put this batch together for Jimmy, and I know my dad would have loved seeing a batch of his namesake bourbon dedicated to his great friend.

Booker Noe Distillery, is located in the small community of Boston, Ky. The facility was purchased by the James B. Beam Distilling Co. in the early 1950’s as a second distilling location to increase production capability at the time. Because Boston was removed from the day-to-day of the Booker’s flagship Clermont, Ky. distillery, Booker was able to experiment with whiskey a bit more and really learn about bourbon-making process. Some may say this is where he found his love of experimentation. That plant was his life for more than 40 years.
