The Singleton 19 Year Old Special Release 2021
Whisky/Whiskey, Cask Strength Whiskey, Scotch Whisky, Single Malt Scotch, Brands, The Singleton, AlcoholAs our fable goes, deep in the waters of the River Dullen lived an ethereal siren. A golden maiden, with the shimmering tail of a fish, known to sing a song of honeyed sweetness that drew listeners in to seek its beautiful source. This Siren’s song gave The Singleton its smooth and melodious nature – a scotch born of slow craft, rich with the bounty of autumn fruit, caramel and spice.
This is a malt that shimmers with sweet aromas of dried fig, apricot and orange peel over rich marzipan and vanilla cake. With soft and luscious textures, it flows sweetly, and ends with an elegant and waning finish, faintly savoury, hinting of nutmeg and ginger. From start to finish, blooming layers of flavor echo sweetly, lingering like a siren’s call.

The Singleton 1985 Prima & Ultima Single Malt Scotch 37 Year Old
Whisky/Whiskey, Cask Strength Whiskey, Brands, Prima & Ultima Collection, Scotch Whisky, Single Malt Scotch, The Singleton, AlcoholCasks which would have otherwise been used as part of a blend were rediscovered during the acquisition of a warehouse. The result is a thirty seven year old masterpiece from the last The Singleton of Dufftown 1985 casks. Slow crafting is the key to The Singleton depth of flavour and this elegant expression is no exception, with a fruity nose and lightly oily smooth texture formed by patient years in cask.
TASTING NOTES
Appearance: Deep amber, light walnut. No beading, long legs.
Body: Medium.
Nose: Mellow in feel, with very light prickle. The top notes begin oily and soon become fruity, suggesting a ripe Ogen melon or poached pears and baked apple. Beneath this there lie traces of flaked almonds and grated, dried coconut on a base of buttery short-crust pastry. Adding a drop of water moves the fruitiness towards boiled fruit sweets.
Palate: Lightly oily and smooth in texture, and slightly drying. A lightly sweet initial taste, mid-palate, then a spicier suggestion of salt, all briefly evoking a banana fritter. Easy to drink straight, and appreciably softer with water.
Finish: Of good length and elegantly drying, with a lovely, sweet warmth and a lingering aftertaste. Softer overall with water, which introduces a further hint of spice.

The Singleton 40 Year Old
Chocolate is a symbol of decadence and deliciousness across the world. Both sacred and seductive, it has been cherished by civilizations throughout history. Inspired by this, our acclaimed malt master Maureen Robinson dreamt of a dram with dark chocolate depths, a modern way to taste the magic and mystery of cacao.
To achieve such indulgence a selection of our finest 12-year-old whiskies were harmonized and rested for nearly three decades, the longest secondary maturation to date in the Singleton’s history. Maureen then amplified this liquid’s cacao-like essence by finishing it in casks which had previously held Zacapa Rum XO & Royal. Rums luxuriously aged above the clouds.
The result is this sensually smooth 40-year-old single malt scotch whisky which has intensely rich layers of pears slathered in velvety dark chocolate, caramelized tropical fruits, and just a hint of intriguing black pepper spice. It is a whisky which pushes boundaries and is forged from the expertise of two titans of extraordinary taste, The Singleton and Zacapa Rum.

The Singleton of Glen Ord 1987 Prima & Ultima Third Release
A first, and last, this is the first 1987 The Singleton of Glen Ord vintage and the only one ever to be released, from the last casks that remain. Slow crafting and patience were key to this rare bottling, taking time to distil the liquid and see each cask reach its peak. The result is an elegant liquid with a fragrant nose and creamy-smooth texture. The sweetly satisfying taste holds deep fruity flavours with hints of ginger.
Selected by Dr Craig Wilson, The Singleton of Glen Ord 1987 is one of eight carefully curated whiskies in the third instalment of the Prima & Ultima series.
TASTING NOTES
Appearance: Bright gold, polished brass. Exceptional large beading.
Body: Medium to full.
Nose: Immediate mineral and lightly smoky with hints of chalk and salt, joined by notes of fine sand and seaweed drying on a hot day.
Palate: A deliciously light oil-smooth texture introduces a sweet and richly malty start, soon balanced by a dash of salt mid-palate and surging waves of smoky pepper. Drying towards the finish.
Finish: Long, with a peppery warmth and a fine gentle chili pepper ‘catch’, leaving a peppery heat on the tongue.
